Felt boxes
These elements are installed in the felt area of the paper machine and according to their function and their position they can be classified as felt conditioning box or Uhle box if they’re installed on the outer side of the felt, while they’re called felt suction boxes if installed on the inner side of the felt to optimize paper drainage.
Uhle boxes
These elements are dimensioned according to the felts conditioning requirements, in order to optimize vacuum performances obtaining the best possible felts conditioning with the lowest vacuum consumption. The choice of the best ceramic material in relation to the machine operating conditions is very important.
The drainage elements can be supplied in different ceramic or plastic materials, but due to the high vacuum degree, it is highly recommended not to use plastics, in order to avoid compromising the felts’ conditioning.
The structure of the stainless steel box is designed to withstand pressures up to around 80kPa.
The box is equipped with an inspection hatch on the operator side, analogue vacuum gauge and a false air valve and it can also be provided with a lubricating spray tube with fan nozzles.
